Noopept and racetams are more complex nootropic supplements often taken more for daytime concentration, improved memory, and sometimes energy but they can have an effect on what your brain does later that night. Magnesium, especially glycinate form, can often alter sleep architecture and get more of the stages of sleep you need. Valerian root improves sleep quality for some and balances sleep stages better while ruining it for others. Omega fatty acids and macuna puriens or other dopaminergic supplements/meds tends to create more deep or rem sleep (whichever is missing) in people with adhd or autism. Then there's all those supplements and diet changes out there that can alter sleep. Maybe infrared light in the evening would help. Maybe it needs to be darker sooner and avoid all electronic screens for a longer period in the evening. Maybe you need more early morning sunlight or light therapy lamps early on. Maybe you need to be warmer during the day to make more contrast. Even things that don't seem related to sleep can make a difference. It depends on why it's happening and for the most part modern medicine and research sucks at the whole "why?" part of sleep no matter what aspect we are talking about. What helps one person get more rem might ruin both deep sleep and rem for another resulting in only light sleep. What helps one person get more deep sleep causes another to get more rem. Problem is that depends entirely on the person.
